Nick Markel

Nick Markel began his studies at Michigan State University and later transferred to Vancouver Film School. It was at VFS that he created a short film titled "Levis HVC", which was chosen for the prestigious Siggraph ElectronicTheater in 2002 and Nick began his professional career at Lucasfilm as post-viz artist and compositor. He then went on to design hundreds of shots for Star Wars: Episode III, in collaboration with the other founders of The Third Floor, Inc. Based on his Lucasfilm experience, Nick was chosen to previsualize War of the Worlds and help Steven Spielberg meet the very tight deadline. Nick then traveled to Australia to work on the pre-viz for Ghost Rider. Since returning to the U.S., Nick has been an integral part of the Third Floor studio, working on and supervising teams for various projects, including Journey to the Center of the Earth, Evan Almighty, Cloverfield, and the latest Star Trek film.
