As a child Barry Howell watched way more movies than he probably should have. As a result he grew up with a strong desire to work in the movie industry. It wasn’t until after watching "Jurassic Park" that he realized computer animation would be how he would achieve this. He graduated from Old Dominion University with a degree he himself created by combining Computer Science and Traditional Animation. This led to a job as an animator/ technical director on the cartoon series "Roughnecks: The Starship Trooper Chronicles". He continued working on numerous other television projects, before finally winning an Emmy for Best Visual Effects on the Sci Fi Channel’s "Children of Dune" miniseries. Barry was then invited up to help George Lucas’s team previsualize Star Wars Episode 3. It was here that he met the other members of the team that would later become The Third Floor. Since then Barry has helped previsualize numerous other feature projects such as James Cameron’s "Avatar", J.J. Abrams’ "Cloverfield" and Tim Burton’s "Alice in Wonderland".
